Director Kenneth M. Almy

Kenneth M. Almy has been a member of the Scotia Fire Department for 32 years, serving as fire chief since 2014. Almy began his firefighting career in 1989, was promoted to lieutenant in 2002, and promoted to captain in 2008. He has served as EMS coordinator for the department, as well as municipal training officer. Almy is an active member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Career Fire Chiefs of New York State, Schenectady County Fire Advisory Board, Glenville Town Chiefs, and the New York State Fire Marshals & Inspectors Association. He graduated from the Zone 5 Law Enforcement Academy and was a tech sergeant with the 139th Aeromedical Evacuation Flight, New York Air National Guard. Almy has been a member of NYSAFC since 2014 and previously served as the regional representative for Schenectady County. Ken has been married to his wife, Deborah, since 1982. They have a son and a daughter and three grandchildren.
