PERMA & NYSAFC 2026 Firefighter Risk Reduction MiniGrant Recipients Announced

This year, PERMA awarded $5,000 grants in partnership with NYSAFC to 19 fire departments from across New York state to purchase a new gear washer and dryer.
PERMA and NYSAFC are pleased to announce the 2026 Firefighter Risk Reduction MiniGrant Program recipients. Launched in 2019, this program is available annually to members of both PERMA and NYSAFC (Department Members only) to provide financial assistance for the purchase of a new gear washer and dryer. As we know, this equipment is crucial in reducing the exposure to carcinogens and helps maintain firefighter gear integrity.
This year, PERMA awarded $5,000 grants to 19 fire departments located throughout the state of New York:
- Arkport Joint Fire District
- Avoca Fire District
- Caledonia Volunteer Fire Department
- Canisteo Fire Department
- City of Cortland Fire Department
- Grahamsville Fire District
- City of Hornell Fire Department
- Kauneonga Lake Volunteer Fire Department
- Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department
- Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department
- Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District
- Village of North Hornell Fire Department
- Piseco Volunteer Fire Department
- City of Rensselaer Fire Department
- Village of South Floral Park Fire Department
- South Hornell Fire Department
- Village of Stewart Manor Fire Department
- Thurston Fire Company
- York Volunteer Fire Department
