2021 Firefighter Risk Reduction MiniGrant Awardees Announced
This program financially assists PERMA and NYSAFC Fire Department Members in obtaining equipment that will help reduce injury and illness within their agencies.
Public Employer Risk Management Association, Inc. (PERMA), in partnership with the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs (NYSAFC), has selected the winners for the 2021 Firefighter Risk Reduction MiniGrant Program.
The goal of this program is to financially assist members in obtaining equipment that will help reduce injury and illness within their agencies. This year, monies were awarded to five members of both NYSAFC (Department Members only) and PERMA for new gear washer and dryers, which remove carcinogens from turnout gear while maintaining gear durability. The 2021 recipients are:
- Arlington Fire District
- Five Mile Point Fire Company
- Guilderland Fire District
- New Berlin Fire Department
- Onesquethaw Volunteer Fire Company
