NYSAFC Announces Job Openings

Interested in joining the NYSAFC office team? The association seeks to fill two staff positions at NYSAFC headquarters in the Capital District – administrative assistant (full-time) and bookkeeper (part-time).

Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: F/T
Compensation: $42,00-$50,000 (total, including benefits)    

Position Duties and Functions: Work with and provide confidential assistance to the Executive Director. Compile, process, and maintain accounts receivable records. Coordinate administrative operations of the association. Schedule/organize Board of Directors and committee meetings and conference calls and prepare agendas. Transcribe and distribute meeting minutes. Assist with association's annual conference and expo. Maintain personnel records and work with Bookkeeper. Provide general assistance to the entire staff and answer telephone. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Mac operating system preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize to achieve a defined objective.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: P/T Hourly
Compensation: $17-$22 per hour

Position Objective:  Maintain all association financial records and process all accounts payable.

Functions:
  • Monitor account balances and accounts payable.
  • Produce checks and coordinate invoices for review and signature by Executive Director and Treasurer.
  • Reconcile all financial records and balance bank accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for review by Executive Director, Treasurer, and Board of Directors.  
  • Work with external auditor to provide all necessary records and accounts.
  • Work with Executive Director and Treasurer in preparation and monitoring of annual budget.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will be highly proficient in the use of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office. Use of QuickBooks for Mac is preferred but not required.
