Join Chief Billy Goldfeder for a NYSAFC Tele-Town Hall

NYSAFC will host a tele-town hall to discuss home fire sprinklers on April 16, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.

Chief Billy Goldfeder and NYSAFC Executive Director Jerry DeLuca will co-host a tele-town hall on April 16, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern time zone) to discuss the benefits of home fire sprinklers and NYSAFC's efforts to ensure the requirement for sprinklers in new homes that is part of the International Residential Code (IRC) is maintained as part of the New York State Fire Prevention and Building Code.

Goldfeder is a renowned author and speaker on fire service issues. He is also the keeper of "The Secret List," a website dedicated to telling the story of fire service line of duty deaths. Goldfeder is also a strong advocate for residential fire sprinklers. He will join DeLuca to discuss the common myths and misconceptions concerning home fire sprinklers, some even held by members of the fire service, and answer questions from fire service leaders about home fire sprinklers.

A tele-town hall is just what it sounds like – a town hall meeting held via telephone. On April 16 at approximately 7:00 p.m., NYSAFC members will receive an automated call inviting them to join the discussion. You do not have to call in, simply accept the call and respond to the prompts.

If you're not a member of NYSAFC or if you do not receive a call, you can still participate. At 7:00 p.m. on April 16, call in by dialing (877) 228-2184 and enter pin number 117303.

This is the first time the association has used this technology and we look forward to members of the fire service participating and sharing their thoughts.
